The Dahlia Purple Explosion is a stunning decorative plant known for its light purple flowers with white tips. Ideal for borders or bedding, it also makes an excellent cut flower. Shorter varieties can be grown in containers for patios or balconies. This variety thrives in well-cultivated garden soil with plenty of organic material and requires a sunny site sheltered from strong winds. For earlier blooms, start tubers in boxes in April using a light soil mixed with compost. Keep the tubers moist, cool, and frost-free until planting out after the frost danger has passed.
