Tulips will grow in a wide range of soils as long as there is good drainage. They prefer sunshine, but their flowers will last longer in partial shade. Ideal for beds, borders, and containers, tulips should have their flower heads removed as they begin to fade. To maintain healthy blooms, avoid planting tulips in the same spot year after year.
They have a flowering height of 15 cm (6 inches) and should be planted at a depth of 10 cm (4 inches) and spaced 10 cm (4 inches) apart. The best planting time is from August onwards.
