Bedding hyacinths thrive in a wide range of soils, provided there is good drainage. They prefer sunshine but will last longer in partial shade. Suitable for beds, borders, and containers, their fragrant flowers are ideal for planting near doors, windows, or pathways.
They have a flowering height of 25 cm (10 inches) and should be planted at a depth of 15 cm (6 inches) and spaced 15 cm (6 inches) apart. The best planting time is from August onwards.
