Tulips will grow in a wide range of soils as long as there is good drainage. They thrive in sunshine, but the flowers will last longer in partial shade. Ideal for beds, borders, and containers, tulips add vibrant colour to any garden. Remove flower heads as they begin to fade and avoid planting tulips repeatedly in the same spot where they have been grown in recent years.
They have a flowering height of 55 cm (22 inches) and should be planted at a depth of 10 cm (4 inches) and spaced 10 cm (4 inches) apart. The best planting time is from August onwards.
