An RHS award winner, double flowered, and bee friendly, crocuses will grow in a wide range of soils as long as there is good drainage. Plant them immediately after purchase in the autumn, and you will be rewarded with flowers within a few weeks. The foliage emerges in spring, and its vigorous growth will encourage next year's flowers. Excellent for naturalizing in wild gardens, rockeries, and between shrubs, crocuses can be left in place to flower year after year. They can also be allowed to flower indoors before planting, without affecting next year's blooms.
They have a flowering height of 13 cm (5 inches) and should be planted at a depth of 8 cm (3 inches) and spaced 15 cm (6 inches) apart. The best planting time is from July onwards.
