Erythroniums thrive in rich garden soil with plenty of leaf mould and prefer a shady area. Plant immediately after purchase, ensuring the bulbs do not dry out. Ideal for rockeries, borders, under trees and shrubs, or in containers for terraces and balconies, erythroniums offer versatile planting options.
They have a flowering height of 25 cm (10 inches) and should be planted at a depth of 8 cm (3 inches) and spaced 10 cm (4 inches) apart. The best planting time is from August onwards.
