Prepared hyacinths are specifically suited for indoor growing. When planted before the end of September, they can begin flowering from mid-December onwards. They can also be grown in hyacinth "glasses" with just water.
To plant, use almost any container with bulb fibre, placing up to 5 bulbs per container and ensuring that the necks of the bulbs remain above the surface. Water thoroughly, then place the container in a cool, frost-free spot with a maximum temperature of 9ºC (48ºF). Check weekly to ensure they are developing well.
